2011 has to be one of the most progressive years for myself as well as Dayside Productions. This year, I stepped up my game by acquiring a crew and keeping ourselves busy with various film projects throughout the year. We have met so many people and made important connections throughout this crazy and fun film adventure. Some notable accomplishments I have made this year was working with an Emmy award winner and recording with a Grammy winner.
I met the Emmy award-winning writer, Josiah Mandigan, who co-wrote “Super Twins” during production. It was an honor to actually meet and talk to an Emmy winner who gave me tips on winning my own Emmy: “Be at the right place, at the right moment. Sometimes, it’s based on luck.” He was very outgoing and was very funny. He had his Emmy in his living room, and I didn’t hesitate to take pictures of it and with it. Yeah, it was shameless, but someday I’ll win my own Emmy and take pictures of it.
When it was time to record a new original song, I went all out and worked with a Grammy winning sound engineer, Jesse Gladstone. He was refereed to me by the hip-hop/rap group Triangle Offense who took charge of my 2nd music single, and they made it really awesome and professional. He did a good job mixing the track and it actually blew out my mind how good the track is. It is indeed a big step from my first single, FTW (For The Win), thanks to Jesse and Triangle Offense. It’ll be out soon!
One day I will be just like these guys and have a legit award on my own. Just meeting with these two is a good inspiration.
