At first, I was afraid that Manny Pacquiao will lose to Antonio Margarito because of Margarito’s height, reach and weight; and just the fact that Pacquiao is going up to another weight class is a big factor. Oh boy I was wrong, really wrong. For some reason this weight gain didn’t even effect Pacquiao, but rather, made his punches stronger while his amazing speed was still there. I mean look at Margarito’s face at the end of the fight. He made him look like an Asian person! Oh my!
Prior to fight night, I made a satire video with Harold about the fight. And to my surprise, it currently have over 5,000 views in 3 days! Even though people posted racist comments, and the video kinda makes fun of Margarito, I’m still happy that people actually watched it (^_^) Check it out:
My friends and I didn’t bother with the undercard fights because Time-Warner Cable was being gay and had ‘technical difficulties’ prior to purchasing it. We had to go to my other friend’s house to watch the main event. When the fight started, Nelly was performing! It was nostalgia time because Nelly was big in the early 2000 with his catchy southern rap melody. Andale-andale-mami-ai-ai-oh-ooo!! (What the hell does that suppose to mean?) He made a come back in 2010 with the song “Just a Dream” which I think is a good song, except not really appropriate in a boxing event. But hey, it’s Nelly! It was just dissapointing that he didn’t sing “its getting hot in herre” because it was getting hot in that small living room. Anyway, back to the fight.
When they showed Margarito and his crew entering the ring, their whole outfit looked like a devil worshiping cult. It was black and dark red with a scary looking sigil and a dark hood. His lack of smile didn’t help his image either, while his beard made his look similar to satans’! Manny Paquiao came out more angelic with the colors like white and gold and all smiles throughout his walk towards the ring. I don’t know if they planned this, but it sure look eerily coincidence of a fight of good against evil. Either that, or Margarito is a big Ozzy and Slayer fan.
When the fight began, I was shaking and nervous because Pacquiao might lose this one. But when he started moving, he got rhythm and was really fast. For every hit landed on him, Pacquiao brought back a 5 hit combo. He dodged a lot of punches, and his footwork and defense was present. As the fight went on, Manny landed more punches and won round after round. In the middle of the fight, we can see the damage Mararito was taking. His face swelled up, the bottom of his eyes(both side) was swollen as if Pacquiao was trying to make him look Asian. From there on, everyone knew Pacquiao was going to win. And I was happy because if he losses, I would get a lot of heat from that youtube video I made. Hooray for Pacquiao! His win just proved that with hard work and dedication, anybody can overcome any large and big obstacle. In Manny’s case, even with his lack of size, he still beat the shit out of a big dude. Brock Lesnar, you’re next!
