Dayside at Anime NYC 2022

Girard and his Dayside crew attended Anime NYC 2022 to see how much it has changed since last year’s convention. Just to summarize, last year had a mask mandate for its festivities. But this year, it was optional. Our good partner David was dressed up as Eren Yeager from Attack on Titan. I took the opportunity to take pictures with the awesome Leica Q. We had a lot of fun taking pictures of his cosplay with the associated booth. Furthermore, there are many awesome cosplayers this year, so you can see some below here:

In my last write up, a lot of the cosplay were effected by the mask mandate so many of the costumes needed to have some type of face mask. There were many cosplayer were very intuitive with their approach on how they implemented it. You can read it all about it on our last year’s post here. But this time, it wasn’t a problem at all. It looks like we are back to normal!

And to summarize shooting with the Leica Q, it was another amazing experience. With the fixed focal lens, it had me moving to see the best angles and lengths. The closer I get to the subject, the better depth of field and sharpness I get. It really got me working. But it the end, I am really satisfied with all the shots I took.
