Leica Q at NYCC 2023

It was more of the same for this year’s New York Comic Con. I brought my Leica Q once again to take great shots of this year’s convention. I do notice that there are more vendors and company booth this year round. And of course, my friend, Karim Jovian, and I took the opportunity to enjoy the great displays and take awesome photos with the Leica Q. Take a look at non edited photos:

We were pretty impressed with all the beautiful and intricate displays. Some are really huge like the Dragon Ball Super and One Piece booth. And as you can you can see, Karim and I are big fans of anime and video games.

While taking photos was fun, I needed to find fun costumes to photograph with the Leica Q. During Thursday and Friday, it was very crowded with so many fans. A lot of them were dressed as their favorite characters. This surprised me as there usually isn’t as much people attending Thursday, and Fridays, and most are attending on Saturday since that’s the day of the cosplay contest. Nevertheless, there were great costumes. Here’s some that I’d like to feature:

I also was kinda in a cosplay. I recently bought a one of a kind ring-worn wrestling mask from the Japanese wrestler, Bushi. I like this one specifically because half of the mask is a tribute to Marvel’s Venom and the other half is a tribute to Mexican Calavera Skull. Check it out here:

Overall, the convention looks like it’s back to its regular normal operation. It’s big as ever and more people are attending because of it. I can’t wait to see what is in store for next year! Maybe next time I’ll actually be in full cosplay.
