Hunter College IMA MFA Thesis Show

As part of my Masters of Fine Arts degree I needed to complete my thesis film and feature it on the Hunter College’s IMA MFA Thesis Show on May 19th, 2022. My thesis film is a documentary of my journey to letting go of my passion in exchange to becoming a home owner during the pandemic.

It was the first in-person Thesis Show event since the pandemic began in 2020. I was pretty honored to have it shown to all the guests, students, faculty, and the other graduates of the program. The reactions were on point, they laughed at the jokes and the spots in the film that were meant to be laughed at. And at the same time, a lot of them enjoyed a light hearted film since most of the other films had strong subject matter and theme.

Afterwards, there was a Q&A segment where they asked questions about our thought process and hands on experience creating our films. My film was bear bones DIY type that can easily be done by anyone. Just finding the story and structure was what I needed help with. Thanks to Andrew Lund for being my thesis advisor since I couldn’t have done it without him.

I will upload my thesis film at some point for everyone to view. Maybe next year?
