Finally got a Leica Camera!

As I mentioned before, I’ve been taking photography a bit seriously for a couple of years back to help train my eyes better for my cinematography skill with our film productions. I’ve used our DSLR and Mirrorless cameras during many of my trips to take photos. The camera I wanted to highlight was the Canon EOS R. Using that with a 50mm f/1.2 Lens was really life changing. BUT it the form factor was kinda huge and was a bit of a drag to bring it everywhere. So I needed something smaller and compact, but still has the quality and look that I’m used to. I love the Canon colors out of the camera, something other brands can’t replicate.

Then I heard about the Leica colors and quality. I was curious about it since Peter McKinnon, made a video about using the Leica Q2 for his photography. At almost $6k price point, I couldn’t do it. But the used older model, Leica Q, at less than half the price? Still good quality and has that highly sought after Leica colors? But no weather sealing or larger RAW files. That’s ok! I'll give it a try!

I’ve been using it for about a month now and it has been a blast. The build quality and smaller form factor makes this camera great to carry around. The pictures it takes looks really marvelous with the 28mm f/1.7 lens. It’s a great all round lens for any photography style. With a little bit of editing, some of my pictures looks like, for the lack of better wording, super professional and artsy. Now I know what everyone is talking about with the Leica eco system.
